RX65 Error code

I've had my RX65 for almost 10 months but recently I got a weird error where it would blink SelfCal4 a couple of times then Service Required after it repeatedly. I tried what T-T had mention in another post...

You should reset your RX-65 if you're holding buttons "City" "BRT" and "Mute" while you turn on the detector.

This didn't do anything... just some almost undetectable weird "click" sound, and it didn't even turn on. I discovered if I hold "City" and "BRT" and turn on the detector it would reset. But after a few seconds of being on, it would display the same error.
Any ideas?
Also, If I end up having to send my unit back to Beltronics, you think they will "flash upgrade" the unit? providing that it is even upgradeable?

You're right, I didn't remember well for Reset procedure at RX-65.

Well, the only thing which you should do to send back your RX-65 for repair as soon as possible. Reset don't do anything in this case: your detector displays a self-calibration error message.

I had same error Exepct SELFCAL3 after ALOT of reset the message dsapeared, but the radar was still NOT working, so yeah you must send it, and ask them for a free update 8)

Called in and they said that RX-65 does not have a update yet. They also said I wasn't cover under warranty since I got it at Inet Distributors. That is so messed up. They don't even have a list of authorized distributors.

Bel is bullsh*t, you should just pay for the update to geet the thing going. This is the thing I hate about BEL, they really let their customers down in this way, Id even consider selling it and getting a V1 (dare I say it) at least mike looks after his customers.

I have read on the boards here of alot of people having the same problems with the Rx 65 and a few with the Escort X50 but alot more of the Rx 65. Is this just a problem with this model or is it all Bel and Escort Detectors don't want to spend alot money on the Rx 65 to have to send it back. Thinking of just going with the vector 995, laser shield and veil since jammers are illegal where I live. Any thoughts on this would be apprieciated.

Bel costomer service is POO POO :roll:

I had terible time sending my unit to them, I had to speel my whole address like a zillion time, plus she didnt understand my postal code, here in canda it is X0X 0X0 and not the 5Digit she was all confused :shock: anyway I hope I will never have ot call them again

even if I had registered my radar online I had to pay the 85$ repair

Maybe this is one of the only things Mike has going for him that and well yes the arrows.

my rx65 has been back 2 times in the 6mo's of use.i still have to keep the pop feature disabled. should send it back again, but it's becoming old sh*#
can't wait until the V1 1.9 is offered then it will give me great pleasure to remove the rx65 and kick start it like an old harley. the worse $300.00 investment i ever made. would of gotten a better return by buying enron stock.
