I was home from work today sick and I was STARVING, so I ventured out to hit up subway, its about 2.5 miles from my house. The road that takes me most of the way there is a PSL of 50mph. Its very straight, and its not uncommon to cruise at 60+ on this road. I got my sub and was returning home and was just getting to the PSL when i get a 1 bar Ka. There are no falses on that road between the gas station's K band door opener and my house so instead of hitting the normal 60+ i leveled off at 50. As soon as I got the reading I thought to myself this is impressive because there is a substantial hill ahead that goes over I-270 and I could only deduce that he was on the other side of it. I had driven another tenth of a mile and the bars went to 2, then 3 bars at 3 tenths, as I start to crest the hill it climbs to 4, then 5, then full alert as the sheriff crests the bridge heading the other way at 4 tenths of a mile. That makes a .8+ mile detection on a Ka C/O in moving mode over an overpass hill. I was very impressed.
If I hadnt gotten that reading I would have been cresting that overpass at 60+ and he would have been right there. This budget detector just doesnt stop amazing me.
