Default Just got the Bel RX65. Revision qustion?

I have seen some owners of the Bel RX65 post how to obtain the revison number or firmware number. I can not locate this in the manual. Can anybody tell me how to get it. Also I use Autoscan mode and I received an K band alert over a mile away even over a small hill. There was LEO at the scene of a minor accident. If this is the kind of performance that I'm going to get from the Bel RX65, I am totally impressed. I set my mileage about 10 seconds after I received the alert goint about 45mph. My mileage read 1.2, so you know it was even further than that. This was all city driving also. Impressed so far. Can you guys offer me any settings tips. I mainly drive on the Highway in Chicago and the Indiana Toll Road, but on weekends mainly city driving. Help greatly appreciated.

Hold down City and Brt while powering it on. This will reset then detector to factory default settings and will display the version. It will only display it briefly so pay attention!

Thanks for the info Robert. Since I do a lot of Highway driving, should I leave the RD in autoscan or should I switch to Highway mode. Is there a sensitivity difference between the two settings? Also, I did not see any settings for VG2 as RD are legal in my state and I would Like to disable this feature if possible. One more thing, can I change the sounds of the alerts? Could not find how to do so in programming mode nor in the manual. Any help is appreciated.

That is totally up to your personal liking. I'm sure there is some variance between models of the same number due to the variance of components. Someone's detector will be less sensitive than someone elses under the same conditions. Not much I'm sure, but some would be able to tell the difference. I prefer not to use Autoscan (see http://www.basilweb.net/beltronics_rx_65_pro.htm for my review) The best solution would be for you to try it out both ways and see which you prefer. Not just for a day. Take your time. I'd say a week each way, but that's just me.

I have noticed a big difference.

The RX65 is immune to VG2. That is not really a feature as you are looking for it. That just means they changed the oscillator to one that uses a different frequency that VG2 won't pick up. This "feature" is not using any processing power whatsoever.

The RX-65 manual actually shows a VG2 alert under "Explanation of Displays". People have mentioned before that this could be a misprint though, someone should call BEL and confirm.

Default newest version for bel rx65?

Just got my RX65 Pro. Read all the threads. I know I saw the newest revision # posted in a thread somewhere but to save time, can someone tell me the newest version so I can verify I have the best.

    Thank you in advance.

I have checked my revision number recently (thanks to Robert) and it read 4.5. I have seen in different posts that the latest was 3.6. I called Bel and they said that it came out of the factory between April and May of this year. They also said that the revison numbers are only for their engineers reference and no performance loss is obtained with any revision. Personally, this did not sit too well with me because if this is the case, why not only have one revision number for all of the RX65's. Maybe someone else can provide some insight on this one.

I leave my X50 in Highway unless I'm in a city with a lot of X falses in which case I switch it to City (set on LoX). The few times I've used Auto I didn't quite like the response I got from it when encountering radar.

Does anyone know what the most current revision number is on the RX65? Mine is 4.5 as I have seen others say the most current is 3.6. Any ideas.
