    Default Scratch on 995 Lens

Today I found a 1/8" long scratch on the lens for the radar horn (not the laser eye). I don't know if it came like that or it got scratched while it was in the glove compartment. I do not think it would have any implication on performance. What do you think?

No you should have no effect on the Radar performance of the detector. If it isn't near the laser reciever then you should be fine with that too.

Scratches, even really bad ones, on the front of the lens covering the radar horn area will have absolutely no effect with regards to detecting radar. A really deep scratch in front of the laser sensor could slightly affect the laser sensor's ability to detect laser, but the scratch would have to be more like a deep gouge which is at least 1/8" wide and at least 1/4" long.

    In short, no worries.

If you want to diminish it, try brasso, it works on filling in scratches on I pod screens.

When I first got my 940, I was also worried about scratches everytime I put it in my pocket when I'm going to / coming from my car. It's comforting to know I don't have to worry about it.
