Weird STi message?

My STi has a weird message when I change sesitivity. It used to say City, City NoX, AutoScan and Hiway. Now it says C1xoScan,C1xy, C1xy NoX and C1xhway. I have reset it, but it still reads these weird messages. Any ideas what going on? This is a new unit 1 month old.

Try going into programming mode and advancing through the options to see if the display is distorted there as well. To enter into programming just hold the VOL-MUTE button and the SENS button down at the same time.

Yes I did that and all seemed fine there.

For sure yours is malfunctioning, never did that to me since I've been using my STI for 13 month now... try reset it and reset it again, you got FULL warranty so worst case scenario would be to send it over to Ohio free of charge but no idea how is with shipping and/or insurance... freaking pain in the ass to get it serviced plus no RD until you get it back, but what else can you do... best of luck...

I did call them. I should of clarified it is a STi-R that I imported. I called CS and Technical at Bel and they were nothing short of Stellar. They even made arrangements for me to send the display unit directly to them and they are expediting me a new one ASAP. Normally I would of had to send it back to Australia for service or warranty. This is the second time that I had to call CS, I had a regular STi that I needed to send back and they were outstanding. BTW I have no affiliation whatsoever with Bel or any radar company. I have read a lot of negative things about Bel's SC, but have not had any bad experiences with them. I have to give them a thumbs up and the Technical people a double thumbs up. They really took care of me. Other than this the STi-R works excellent.

That's very good of them. Of course it's probably made in Canada anyway so they saved big $$$ on redundant shipping. You sending it to Mississauga or Ohio?

That's good to know they will service Bel products designed and sold for other places in the world. Have any pics of your set-up?

Why did you go for the STI-R (made as I understand for the Down Under Land) and not the traditional N. American STI?
