Recently I noticed my STi alerting between 200 - 400 feet for ka (all C/O). I dismissed the three cases as possible environmental conditions (slight curves) since other ka alerts were well over a mile. In one case I saw the LEO had someone pulled over well before the STi alerted and the road curved slightly to the right and had a dip. I was traveling to the right and slightly down the hill/up the hill. In another case, the LEO was travailing in the opposite direction (I was going east he was going west and the road curved to my right his left). The last case the LEO was parked off to the side. In all cases I saw LEO before RD alerted.
Having gotten another short alert I started thinking could the ka guns be set to varying lengths by LEO making it hard for RD's to detect them until it's to late. Reading some threads, it looks like there are no low output/variable length adjustment guns in use so now I don't know what to think. Could my STi need repair/flash update? Could it be operating properly? There are no errors displayed and the units manufacture date is 3807. Btw, these alerts were in NJ mostly around Morristown and Whippany. Worried that I'm not as protected as much as I should be.
