    Default RX55 error message

I have an RX55 and while operating in any mode, autoscan/highway/city my display will change from the mode to the following: "Cal??????". Can anybody tell me what this means? That message remains until I hit the "City" button again.

    Thanks in advance,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

This means that the RD was having problems performing its periodic self calibration process. It also means that you should send it into Bel for service.

    Michael,
Thanks for the info. That's what I was afraid of. Since I bought it second hand, it would probably be more cost effective to just buy another.

Agreed, radar detectors is one of those things that those extended warranties actually make sense.

Yea I got one. I haven't had any problems so far, but it's nice knowing that I can send it in right before the warranty ends/or before to get it tuned up.
