    Default STi breaking?

I got rid of my 8500 because after years of loyal service, it turned on me. It started giving me false Lasers all the time and I saw a friend's do the same. So I replaced it with an STi because I heard that it will turn itself off before it allows itself to get cooked.

Yesterday, on my way home on rural backroads that I drive every weekday I had 2 false Lasers. Pa doesn't even have LIDAR, so I never even heard the STi alert Laser before. Is my <1 year old STi starting to go on me?

Funny, I had 2 laser alerts on my motorcycle and there were no LEOs around and I've never had a laser alert before. THe alerts were about 6 miles apart in different counties.

I had the same problem with my s-10. It had a lot of electrical noise I am guessing. I just sent in the X50 to escort, they updated the laser circuit, and it fixed the problem. I also had the same problem with my 895 in my S-10, but no other vehicle I put the 895 in gives any laser alerts unless it is a real hit.

Some cars will set off a laser alert. Infiniti SUV's seems to be a well known offender.

Just turn laser off. I always turn laser off on the detectors i use. You need a laser jammer for laser anyways.

I can pretty much guarantee if your laser goes off there is an Infiniti vehicle coming in the opposite direction.
