If you bought it on E-Bay, you are screwed when it comes to your warranty status. Bel will not honor the warranty on your detector even if it's only 1 day old, no matter who you bought it from, including an authorized Bel dealer. Your best hope is to try and obtain a sales receipt from the dealer you bought it from and DO NOT under any circumstance mention E-Bay when you speak with Bel. And of course you cannot have E-Bay anywhere on your sales receipt either. All these "authorized" dealers on E-Bay is a scam if they even mention the word warranty in their ad. Bel will not honor the warranty of any detector purchased on E-Bay, I have fought that battle and lost. Good luck.

So Belscort doesn't stand behind their products?

They do not stand behind products purchased from unauthorized dealers, but they do stand behind products sold by radarbusters.

So Belscort doesn't stand behind their products.

Every authorized BEL dealer suffers from this policy, as prospective customers are dismissing one of their product lines as essentially marginal.

BEL is punishing the end-user for leaks in their production/distribution network. It's not clear whether this would stand up in court, but heck, it's only $200.

The grey market products originate from BEL and presumably if BEL's inventory (of good and defective products) is well controlled, BEL has made a profit on these products. If the s/n is intact and indicates that the product is <1 year old, why shouldn't they cover it?

CMI/Escort was an excellent company, but perhaps MV took that excellence with him.
