I've got a Subaru SVX, and considering its odd wiring, odd dashboard assembly, and super special windshield (it blocks EZ-Pass and radar well), I decided to install a BEL RX75 myself. I'm good with the 'tronics in cars, so that's no problem in itself.
My situation is that the Ka range is very poor. I had a Valentine one in my Legacy, and it would pick up Ka with plenty of time to spare. The BEL, as it is right now, is practically line-of-sight, which doesn't make a lot of sense.
This defies all of the reviews I've read, where it should be performing a heck of a lot better.
Has anyone had a similar problem, and been able to solve it? It's been a lot of fun finding grocery store doors and all  , but I'd really like to know where the guns are.
FWIW - the radar antenna is currently located in the grille, behind the clear plastic. If you're not familiar, it's like the older FWD Grand Prix or Mercury Sable, with the clear bar going across the front of the car, except this one dips a little in the center to let some air in.
