I'm a long time lurker/member, but haven't been active on this board since I purchased my STi in the summer of last year. Canadian highways aren't as actively enforced as those in the states so nothing too interesting to report.
But this past Easter long weekend was a little different. I was making my way from Toronto to Montreal roughly a 300 mile trip. The PSL is 62 mph, with the average group of vehicles driving at 78 mph.
I set my cruise control to 90 mph ( as anything over 94 mph gets your vehicle and licensed seized on the spot). Driving there was uneventful, the odd K bad cruiser patrolling.
On the way back I found a rabbit and followed him all the way, we came upon a crest on a hill just outside Bowmaville, where a laser trap was set up. One shooter and 4 chase cars lined up. The STi go's off and my heart stops, I brake from cruising speed to the PSL very quickly (possible nose dive). My rabbit continues driving through on the inside lane and I move over quickly to the outside lane.
Heres the interesting part the LEO operating the laser gun jumps out into traffic (which they're not allowed to do) crosses the inside lane. Waits for my car points at my car and tries to peer in my vehicle.
I didn't bother slowing down or pulling over. Continue on my way and no pulls me over. Don't know the fate of my rabbit though as he took the next exit I think.
So heres my question: what exactly happened? Did the officer clock my speed and wanted me to pull over? But why would he jump into to traffic and how come I didnt get pulled over?
Was the STi detected and he was peering into to my car to make sure? Or was it because of the sudden braking he just assumed I had a RD?
Either way how come I didnt get pulled over?
