Default Sti problem K and Ka ans Serious answer please

Hello. I posted this topic before but i got more funny messages than serious ones.

So, i would appreciate answer to me helpfull, from serious users

I use my sti driver to travel on long roads. 200 miles roads and more. than, I noticed it did't pick any K and KA band signal after two houres of driving or more. I verified my doubt with radar KA band after 2.5 houres of use. So, i called Beltronics and they said they certainly can fix the problem by the new firmware. My unit was bought two month ago from an authorized dealer in SA at Vision Electronics, an auhorized dealer. My serial last for digit are 1507, so i dont have the new firmware. I wonder the add of new firmware can correct the situation.
My questions are easy: Did anyone noticed something similar ? How they fixed it?

Let me know if you experienced something similar.

If both K and Ka are not working, then this most likely is an antenna problem and is not a firmware problem. Have you done a factory reset of your STi? Also, how is your STi powered -- hardwire kit or via its coiled cord and the cigarette lighter socket?

Hold down the VOLUME/MUTE and SENS buttons while you turn the STi on.

The firmware on a Bel or Escort radar detector rarely can get hosed up, usually by allowing the ignition to turn the radar detector on while starting the car. To reset your STi, hold down the Volume and Sens buttons and then press the Pwr button to power up your STi. RESET should be displayed along with your STi's firmware version. I almost always use my radar detector's power button to power on the radar detector rather than simply letting my car's ignition power on the radar detector when starting my car.

Here is an example of how powering on a Bel or Escort radar detector can, once in a blue moon, cause the firmware to get hosed:

One day last summer I started my car and V995 using the ignition. My V995 produced no sound during its startup sequence and I thought that its speaker had gone bad. I then turned on my K band transmitter and my V995 produced no alert at all -- nothing! I then powered off my V995 and reset its its firmware by holding down its two programming buttons and then powering it back up. Voila! The speaker was working again, the start-up sequence was normal again, and it alerted at full blast when I turned on either my X or K band transmitters.

So, try resetting your STi and then find a K band door opener and see if your STi alerts to it.
