    Default Bel V895 Questions??

Guys I currently have the Bel Express 925. Looking at SML and the v895 scored impressive results. Does anyone know anything about this unit as far as testing vs other detectors? Also does anyone know if you can turn off X and turn off POP?

    Thanks Duc

The Bel 895 X band can be turned off, but I do not know about the POP trying to find out that info.

I dont think so, I am fairly sure neither can be turned off....

    SEVEN DRIVER SELECTABLE FEATURES

    1 Power-on indication
    2 Power-on sequence
3 Voice alerts on or off
    4 AutoMute on or off
    5 City mode sensitivity
6 Safety Warning System © (SWST) on or off
7 VG-2 detection on or off

    Compared to the RX65;

    DRIVER SELECTABLE FEATURES

    1. Power-on indication
    2. Voice alerts on or off
    3. Power-on sequence
    4. Signal strength meter display
    5. AutoMute on or off
    6. City mode sensitivity
    7. Radar/Laser bands on or off

On the V895 only POP and SWS can be turned off. Also, the standard bar graph display is your only display option.

    I am riding a Monster 750, duc's are awesome

Do you guys think v895 is better than the year old v985?

My 925 falses alot, and just yesterday I was getting off the highway and a city cop with K band was in "constant" mode (rear Radar). The 925 did not go off until I was right over him (.2 of a mile). I was dissappointed that it did not pickup earlier, and I am in the market for a better detector. The thing is my wife will KILL me if I buy another expense toy like a RX65

    Thanks In Advance

Sounds like any detector would be better than the range of your 925

The Bel 895 x band can be turned off.
Stating this from Craig Peterson's site:

Quote: Features include heightened X-band filtering or X-band shutoff to limit urban false alarms, plus voice alerts and two types of visual display. There’s a fast power-up option that skips the usual audio/visual self-test routine and puts the unit to work immediately.</p>

Do you guys think v895 is better than the year old v985?
No the 985 is one of bel's best units built, it may be an older model but it still one the best out there.

POP and SWS can be turned off in the programming. The city modes include the standard "City LoX" and "City NoX" settings.

So turn off POP in the programming and then run with "City NoX".

Thanks for the reply but if you look at the SML 2003 vs SML 2005 the 895 appears to have better range than the 985.

    Boom what are you thoughts?
    Thanks
