For those that read about my RDs recent unfortunate incident in the lounge, here's an update: I overcame my fear of plugging the power cord into the corroded looking RJ-11 and powered it up. It worked! I gave it a reset, high mounted it above RVM in the truck and set off for a test drive. It alerted in its usual places to the correct bands and on the interstate gave me nearly 2 miles on Ka as I approached a cop parked on the side of the road. The lesson is that a Bel coming out of 800*F heat can still outperform a brand new Cobra. I'll send it in to Belscort for them to check it over and replace the case as its got lots of cosmetic damage, some corrosion on the jack, both lenses cracked (particularly the front), some slight deformation from the heat along the left side, and needs an internal cleanup as well due to smoke getting into the tiniest places of every other thing that was in that room. I guess this means I won't be trying a V1 even tho I really wanted to.
