My S7 955 certaining has amazing off-axis detection. I have a run of interstate where I daily get an X and K false back to back. I can't figure out WHERE they are coming from because the businesses are set back waay of the road. Can't say I know for sure how this has helped me in an actual speeding situation, but it has alerted me to cops coming up from cross roads from a great distance when I've been sitting at intersections.

Some people say great off axis detection is not needed since they can not shoot you anyway. But I feel it gets me ready esp on Ka, since most of the time it is a real threat. I want the most advanced notice on real threats as I can get.

Honestly, I cannot comment on ramp-up at this time. Other than the usual low signal false, I really have had nothing but 2 or 3 instant-on Ka encounters since I have been using it. The LEO's in my area just seem to be almost dormant this summer. Also, thank you for clarifying that the Rev 4.5 was the highest on the S7 RX65.

Sometime, when I get a minute of free time, I'm going to try to get this thing to go into tutorial mode. I read about it on here once or twice. I think I remember reading that it's only accessible on S7 models?

Yep. And to test the ramp-up, you could try driving towards a K band door opener located at a store with a large parking lot. A good time to test is later at night when the parking lot is nearly empty.

I am pretty sure the highest S7 was the the 4.5 for the Bels and the highest S7 for the Escorts was 5.0, no mixing and matching.

Maybe the Professor can let us know.
To the best of my knowledge, you are correct: the highest "S7" RX-65 was 4.5.

But of course that doesn't mean that there aren't a few units floating around out there that are mislabeled, where the guts do not match the sticker on the case.

I agree, just like the orig poster said his SN sticker is still the old one, so the guts are different than what the sticker says. I always thought they printed a new sticker with the same serial number, but then change out the platfrom section, maybe this tech didn't take the time to do that.
