1st laser hit...

this morning on my way to work i got a got laser hit on the STi, to which i was very surprised.... scared me a little,at least made me jump..........ultralyte about 1000 to 1500 feet i was 6 over psl but he didnt come after........and i have it mounted high over the rvm in my truck in which its 5.6 feet high......

That is very good laser detection, though it does show exactly why a jammer is needed for protection.

people say the STi is not good on laser but i have picked up scatter 3x with it...very good RD!!!!!! picked up some i/o X this morning for 3/4 of a mile but had to get off because the leo was hiding was after my exit over a hill so i never got the conformation..but still.. STi FTW!

Didn't Roy say something about the STi doing very well against laser in this years SML? I wonder if the newest firmware has something to do with this? Or are the newer model STi just better on laser because the hardware is different?

I just sent my STi in to get flashed as I was lazy and still did not have the 33.8 fix. Will report on my laser when I get it back. So far I've only missed 1 Laser alert that I can remember and I have it mounted high above the RVM.

i got mine flashed back in april but have only run into 33.8 Ka once and it was i got off the highway and a local was sitting at a light so it was like it alerted and i saw him..couldnt rele tell how it was in comparison with a pre 33.8 flash STi..

Yep, I've recieved scatter on Laser twice in the last few months with my STi, both times the rabbit was tagged. With all the negative hype, I thought I would never get a Laser hit unless it was me being tagged. I've driven a little over 11,000 miles in the last 7 weeks. I've only had Laser alert 4 times, First time was a Wisconsin Trooper hiding in the median of trees, shot me 3 times in a row. I didn't even see him until the 3rd alert, & Laser really squeals. Second Alert was a false alert, it was a sign in a strip mall.

haven't had a laser alert yet, so hopefully i get one, since i bought it last week i've been impressed with its Ka detection. got a warning one night and the cop was on a different road all together; finally saw him after i passed through the T intersection.

the range on the STi is pretty dam amazing..i found running it in THT mode is actually a lot easier and better ramp up (0-9) then STD mode

2nd laser hit same spot today, i dont know if he taged me or i got scatter because i was in the slow lane and everyone was passing me ..................i got a vid on my Instinct ill try to get to up soon.............
