    Default 1.7 Mile - Off Axis - 35.5 - STI Driver

Well today I went out to get something to eat and run a couple of arrons, well I could already tell my STI was Hott today, it was picking up falses from 1-1/2x times where it usually does.

Well driving down the road I recieved a KA 35.5 reading on my detector. Well it went away in a few seconds, then 10 seconds later, alerted agian and went away and did this a little more. Well I stopped at a stop light and it was silent, for about 30 seconds and then I started moving agian and it alerted and stayed alert to c/o a little down the road from the stop light. Then I took a turn on to cook rd. and down a little farther was VSP using c/o.

Well I couldn't belive that i recieved that intial alert 1.7 miles away from where he was. Tree's, building, etc. All in the way of my line of sight and i still managed to pick it up somehow.

Yeah it was bad. Like if you invision where I first recieved the alert, you would think its impossible. All of the interference, really not much reflective things, and the road he was on is like a depression - its lower than the regular road. Straight out the best or 2nd best detection i've ever recieved. I did one time get a 5 mile k band, that might be the best i'm not sure

Bel/Escort claims that ambient radar sources do not interfere with a Bel/Escort's self calibration procedure when it powers up. Yet I have word from Mike B that indeed this can happen if the ambient radar source (such as from one or more microwave door openers) is really strong. Thus I always wait until I am exiting a parking lot in front of a store which has microwave door openers before I power up my Bel or Escort RD. The result is that all other nearby false alert locations do register correctly and with excellent range after I have left the parking lot with the nearby microwave door openers. I thought that this was worth mentioning.

yeah i have no falses or anything of that sort in my neighbor hood and i made sure it had some time to cool down so like 2-3 minutes in the drive i turned it on instead of immediatly and it did great today.

Autoscan is amazing..it cuts down on falses from highway mode..but i wonder wat the sensitivity differences actually are...testing?

actually was thinking about the sti driver, but when i saw the gol test that it did same with rx65 x50 and the vectors series with 35.5, i didnt even bother to get it.

I use highway always even around like falses. I got use to mine around here. I know its going to alert to it so i got used to it. But it does decrease sensitivity and i think what it does is a little more proccesing.

No those results arn't really up to par with what its capable of. It does pretty much the exact same in performance wise on 35.5 as the v1. And it actually sniffs it out better and on all ka bands. Those tests use reducing foam that kind of proved things and in a way messed it up a little. But the foam is a great way to prove the detectors ability's and cudo's to them for that.

The sti is straight out amazing seriously. I wish they would have done another radar test.
