The ramp up doesn't bother me all that much, could it be better, sure, I think its made too much of big deal. Its like when some people want a blue display instead of a red one, who cares what color the display is, if you find yourself looking at the RD's blue or red display instead of the road, you might end up wrapped around a lamp post at some point. As long as its detecting radar, its fine with me. Ofcource I'm in an area where RD's are illegal so mine is hidden, hard wired, remote speakered and in dark mode, so display color is irrelevant.

You might have the impression over the last few months that we are ignoring you and others about the audio for the STi. None of your e-mails have been deleted and they are on top of our mail box at all times as a reminder. You were informed we are working on this and will contact you as soon as we have something solid to report. our engineering department has been working on an alternate software to give customers an option for the audio ramp. Past Bel detectors have also used this audio programming and many customers actually like the way it is.

However, for those that would prefer a more "linear" audio style, we are testing the new code now. I expect to get confirmation within two weeks. If there are no concerns we will contact you again (hopefully in that two week time frame) and ask for you to send in your STi Driver.
There will be no charge for you and any other STi owner that is interested in this change.

I don't have any info on the STi-R and I am not sure that will be included in this code revision.
Hang in there. We are a small company and we are peddling as fast as we can!

Regards,
Beltronics Inc.
I'm giving the STi/STi-R a close look these days among my options and at face value this is encouraging news but I have to say those emails you received sound like they were composed by an intern as it just didn't sound right, not very convincing...

Exactly. I have to admit I was giving some thought to the 9500ci when I first embarked on researching my upcoming purchase but as most know by now, it is just the remote version of the 9500ix and ZR4 anyhow, and you can get just...about...the...same performance with both of those for $930 so how on earth can they justify an extra $700 for the luxury of remote installation, benefits aside? I don't know if the added expense is justifiable. And lest we not forget the latest GOL results where the ZR4 got it's a$$ handed to it by LI and Blinder, the ZR4 was downright a horrible performer...very disappointing to say the least!

To make matters worse I was able to see dealer pricing on these remote units and the margin is huge. The fact that Escort and Beltronics prevent their dealers from discounting these products is an insult.

The Escort remote looks nice but unless they offer it minus the ZR4 I won't be buying one.
