Latest UPDATE Re STi and STiR Rampup FIX

Got this email from bel...its looking promising....watch this space!!

You might have the impression over the last few months that we are ignoring you and others about the audio for the STi. None of your e-mails have been deleted and they are on top of our mail box at all times as a reminder. You were informed we are working on this and will contact you as soon as we have something solid to report. our engineering department has been working on an alternate software to give customers an option for the audio ramp. Past Bel detectors have also used this audio programming and many customers actually like the way it is.

However, for those that would prefer a more "linear" audio style, we are testing the new code now. I expect to get confirmation within two weeks. If there are no concerns we will contact you again (hopefully in that two week time frame) and ask for you to send in your STi Driver.
There will be no charge for you and any other STi owner that is interested in this change.


I don't have any info on the STi-R and I am not sure that will be included in this code revision.
Hang in there. We are a small company and we are peddling as fast as we can!

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your STi back when you send it into Bel for upgrades? Maybe I should buy back my V1 while its out of commision.

This is very promising news! Anyway, turn-around time always seems to get quoted at 10 days but usually the turn-around time is around 7 days. Its nice when your RD comes back a day or two earlier than you expected. I've said before that I would happily pay shipping plus maybe a small $10 fee to have my STi flashed if and when a audio ramp-up fix becomes available. Then my STi would be perfect in every way! I always ship USPS Priority Mail Insured since it is dirt cheap and since it is a federal crime for a USPS employee to steal USPS mail.

Thanks dude...most of you know I am very passionate about my rampup and this issue, I said I will stick with it and indeed I will to the end!

I have both STi and STiR and will send both back for the fix.

Ill update you guys as answers happen.

yeah u will be able to, you will just have to send to USA. Even Neltronics in Oz send their units back to the USA

Since I have two Bel STi's, will they allow someone to send both of their STi's in for the ramp up fix?
