Exclamation 955 and Tech mode?

So today i was driving and my radar was working great like usual. Then a couple hours later when I went home My radar turned on and there was no noise or anything. all it showed was C 14.4 V. then I stopped by the local jewel and k band went off and it showed C 24. 8 I think. I went to the manuel and the tech showed that it was indeed K band. I tried setting it back to the factory setting at least 3 or 4 times and it didn't work...... What should I do..... Help me out. Thanks.

Your 955 thinks its a 995. Sounds like settings got messed up, happened to me too before but soon the problem went away by itself.

My 955 took 2-4 days to figure out it wasn't a 995; but it worked fine during the time. Resets didn't help me either.

Hmm...This is one possible example of a very strong cosmic ray hit to electronics. We experience this from time to time with our CCD imaging cameras on our telescopes. Every once in a while a really strong cosmic ray hit is strong enough to cause charge to be trapped within the CCD's substrate. This can take a few days to clear itself.

So, dplatel01's suggestion of waiting for a few days could possibly work. Obviously after a few days do a factory reset and then see if everything is okay.

Just think folks, strong cosmic ray hits can flip digits in your bank account balances!

Seriously though, it is amazing that banks apparently don't use three core systems which automatically cross-check each other for their reported balances. NASA uses five identical cross-checking core systems in the space shuttle.
