Not exactly, remember the ci's have different icons say for the satellite symbol, it also displays arrows etc.
They both have identical display sizes. 280 LED

Right, but focalcivic's point was the displays are different because of what is on them. I say no. My point is the displays are exactly the same, except for the color and there is no reason why they shouldn't be interchangeable.

Right, but focalcivic's point was the displays are different because of what is on them. I say no. My point is the displays are exactly the same, except for the color and there is no reason why they shouldn't be interchangeable.
Looks can be deceiving, they are different. Just like say for instance the 8500 blue and the 9500 blue, yeah they look the same right? but different, has its own feature set. Just like Racer said he tried to cross breed, didn't work, just because physical size and look the same they are different.

All of the Escort LED displays are 7X40 LEDs. They are all physically capable of displaying the exact same characters. Firmware, software, hardware and feature set of the individual RD has nothing to do with what a display is physically capable of.

Ok, say for instance you hold up the StiR and Ci displays you think you will see the little satellite symbol on it say the StiR? or the arrows etc?
The arrows and satellite symbols are just arranged dots of the LED display. They are not just a lit up arrow or satellite symbol. The same areas where the satellite and arrows show up are also used for letters and such. My SRX, 9500ix and 9500ci all have the exact same display, 7X40 LED.
