    Default STi-R 9500ci hybrid?

Say someone wanted laser detection without jamming in a single outside box, but also wanted GPS/TrueLock. Would the single outside STi-R antenna (which has laser sensor built-in, unlike 9500ci) work fine with the inside 9500ci controller, which was designed for additional sensor/jammer units?

The point of this is that people want to purchase the 9500ci without the ZR4s to save the $400 or so that the ZR4s add to the price. Then, they want to add better laser jammers to their setup. They are not looking for laser detection from the 9500ci that the STi-R radar antenna might add.

I agree -- in fact, I'd like the same thing. But, the original question stands: That is, would the 9500ci controller work (including laser sensing) with the STi-R horn?

I'm not for sure, but I doubt it. Since the 9500ci control box is expecting to receive laser signal data from the three designated ZR4 plug-in ports, I highly doubt it is wired to receive this data from the radar antenna, but I could be wrong.

What port is for the UBS connection, the test port?

    Doesn't work.
I already tried some various "cross breeding" to see but the STI-r antenna will work for radar but not laser. the ci control box doesn't see the laser shots, since it is expecting them through the shifters.

also the displays aren't interchangeable either.

bottom line each unit is on its own.

That had to be intentional. They look identical.

Not exactly, remember the ci's have different icons say for the satellite symbol, it also displays arrows etc.
