Default Bel Vector 955 vs. 965

What are the differences between the 955 and the 965? It seems to just be some extra features i.e. ku band but are those extra features worth the extra price?

Beltronics website says the 955 has less range.

Probably true but anybody have any real world expierence with either? That would be most helpful, I'm to tight on cash to get the rx65 or x50.

hello take a look at these budget radar detectors the bel modles are v895-$200 and the express 795 $99unit ka range is outstanding on both units i allready came across ka with my bel express 795 instant-on i had plenty of time to slow my speed they are great at picking up radar.i think that bletronics did a super nice job on these 2 detectors.now on laser i dont really know how good they are but i guess i have to wait and see to find out. or maybe i can send my express or v895 to GOL to test it on the next test. if they do do a nother one in the future anyway time to go peace! 8)

The Express 925 I think is the same as the Rat Shack 795, best deal I have seen for under 99 bucks. Check the tests. As they said the "best price performance ratio", I agree.

Is paying 200 bucks for the Bel 955 worth buying or am I just better off saving for an X50?

The 955 is not upgradable, but the X50 is. With Ku band possibly coming up, i'd feel a lot safer with an X50.

Ku is another radar band that's been used in Europe for some time now. It has been approved for police radar use for years in the US, but no manufacturer ever made a US police radar gun on that band. Kustom signals (makers of the very popular Eagle series guns) is planning to release the first Ku gun in the US very soon.
