What mode do yo use for Ka band on your Rx65.

What do you guys use International or USA and what ka band do they use. And why do you use what you use.

I used USA mode obviously because i live in the us but mainly because beltronics said it would be more effective so i went with it.

In town here I went with Int. due to not being able to pick up some photo vans that have fallen out of calibration. In USA mode I would not pick them up at all, with Intl., I could pick them up from 200 yards.

If photo radar vans are not used in your area then you can safely use USA mode.

Do you guys think that having it in international mode will affect the range of the KA band? And when it is international mode will it pick up all of the us bands? So my question is does it just adjust to a wider range of detection in international?

International mode picks up everything on Ka band since in this mode the RX65 sweeps the entire Ka band. USA mode on the other hand just sweeps regions around the three Ka frequencies for radar guns used in the USA. USA mode does somewhat boost the RX65's detection range for USA Ka band radar guns, but as noted USA mode could completely miss detecting some Ka band photo radar systems.

Drove by the Tempe photo van today and no alert whatsoever with my GX65. Of course there is no international mode for me to try out like the RX65.

I'm not sure, but my guess is about 2dBm or around 60% more sensitivity in USA mode when searching the three blocks around the 33.8, 34.7 and 35.5 Ka band frequencies. That is enough of a sensitivity boost to give you several seconds of earlier warning when driving on moderately flat terrain, and enough to give you a few extra seconds of warning before cresting a hill or rounding a curve. USA mode gives you even longer advance warning times if you are driving through very flat terrain with very low humidity such as in the desert southwest.
