I use the black wire that goes to the ground. Cut the wire put one end on one end of the switch and the other end well on the other end of the switch.

    Here's my setup:

and here is what the switch looks like. You can get it at any radio shack, and it's a great switch, it's fully lit so you can see it day or night and big enough so you don't have to hunt down for it.

You'll need the correct gauge wiring and these:

to crimp the wires onto and then these attach to the leads on the back of the switch. (make sure to hook them up to the correct ones)

In your case, use the diagram and just forget about the concealed display and junction box since this isn't a V1 setup, but the same principles apply.

I am still learning about this stuff and am a little confused about the point of having a kill switch. Is it like a coinventional kill switch on a car witch cuts power to the unit? Are they used to cut the power off so you dont get detected where radars are illegal.

An STI is spectre immune, so you shouldn't have to worry about it. I guess maybe a switch down low will prevent a LEO from seeing you reach up and shutting it off. I think a more common use is for Laser Jammers.

So you get a hit from a laser and then shut it off so they get a reading if they try it again I suppose. Good thing they are legal in IL anyway.
