sti direct wire

ok my sti just came in today
i want to hardwire it
but i dont have the plug

i would need the pin out in the phone plug

wich one is positive and negative
i dont really need the mute

what size fuse

You should have received a direct wire with the STI. it has the correct fuse, hookup and everything that you need, but perhaps a pair of pliers to crimp the wire tap

Okay,but we're just saying your missing some pieces.Either you can cut up the plug,or order a Beltronics hardwire kit from Beltronics.

You can get an aftermarket direct wire kit off of fleabay, but they are not as nicely made as the actual Bel/Escort direct wire kits and aren't worth the slight cost savings.

Do a conductivity test with your ohm meter, if I remember right the two middle wires are the -&+. I personally didn't have the balls to bypass the mute component (wasn't going to risk my $800 detector) so I just shorten the wires at both sides ($10 for the phone line crimping kit.)
