V940 issues

I took my 940 out for a spin around the town because I didnt want to have to deal with my V1 picking up the 6 local walgreens, and it was completely silent the entire time. I've already sent it in once for repairs, and Im afraid to even use this thing anymore because Im not sure if its working correctly. Has anyone had any similar issues with their 940?

My old 940 Ive had since like 99 is still working great.
Was yours in working order before you put it away before? Cord O.K.? Have you reset it? When its not in quick start mode they go thru a pretty long self test that you cant ignore.
Mine is really pretty quiet. I even leave it on highway mode but its not going to be as sensitive as your V1
Maybe yours is working you just used to so many falses with the V1?

Do a reset. My V995 was totally deaf to all radar one afternoon. It turned out that a power fluctuation corrupted its memory settings. A dead giveaway was that the full startup sequence wasn't normal and I had no audio either. I did a factory reset and that immediately fixed it.
