Default v995 performance decreased with ku on?

would the performance of my vector 995 be affected by having ku band turned on? i turned it on because i know that it might be used in US in the beginning of 2006, or so i hear.

    Possibly.
With some detectors, disabling bands only disables the reporting of the alerts on those bands. But with others, the sweep actually changes, and this has been shown to be true in some cases with some Belscort products.

With Ku turned on, since the detector has to scan Ku, it has less time to concentrate on the other frequencies, and therefore it might cause a performance decrease.

If I was you I would just leave it turned off until you know for sure that it is a threat, which still might be a long ways off. You'll hear about it on this forum when it is.
