Bel 965 - Different sounds?

Hi,

Ok, trying out my new 965. I noticed that it has distinct sounds for each band. It even announces which band it is in a robotic voice.

But today on the way home, it started making a higher pitched sound. I thought it was X band, but then it said K band. I looked at the detector and sure enough, it said K band, even though it was sounding off with the X band sound. I even shut it off and fired it up again to listen to the sounds for each band.

Is there any reason why it would make an X band sound for K band? Please don't tell me I have another defective one... :shock: I think that Circuit City is getting sick of me exchanging them.

hi there that happens to me sometimes with the bel e795 model it does the same thing i dont know why it would do that maybe its normal or the radar detector gets confused and does that at times that has made me think about the unit maybe going bad anyone else with this problem

hey compu44 something is wrong with MY radar detector my bel E795 does not have KU band SHOULD i send it to bel u think. it has only done this 2 times in 1 month though :shock:

There is no KU band alert on the 965.

According to Bel, you're right, but some sites are showing that it does have Ku.

Beyond me man, i'd talk to the people at Bel and see what they say.
