bel sti driver on ebay ...

i am about to buy a bel sti driver , i dont get that much money for it so i am looking several auctions for bel sti on ebay , but be reading some random post , its seem that all version that where build before middle of 2007 are having something ?

the one i was looking for was release in January, 2006

is it safe to buy a radar detector on ebay ?
do i really need to buy one that was made after middle of 2007 ?
what is that bug that bel sti was having before 2007 ?
should i check something else then the release date ?

The first problem with the very early STi's was their inability to detect Ka 33.8 GHz consistently. The second fix (last year) was to correct the horrible two-stage ramp up.

i look on uses models that are arround 200 $ to 300 $ , i dont wanna pay more then 300 $ ,

their is an auction for a bel sti driver Release Date January, 2006 , and i think i would get it for 200 $ or 250 $ , i suppose ...

i dont have money for a 500 $ retail + shipping + taxe ,

its not a question about trusting ebay ... i know seller would ship me the device ... ok

only get it with a serial number but hey if you can get a used one for 250.00 id say that's a good deal i'd like to think I could get more then that for my Used 9500ix If I was going to sell it who knows
