I found lots of threads containing info about how to place your RD to pick up laser and/or radar signal best, or how to make a hidden installation. But I did not find nearly anything regarding left-center-right (eg. horizontal positioning) issue.
Here are some of my points of view:
-If you put the detector to the center, on a straight road it will be more difficult to pick up the front signal than with left/right placement, as the cars driving in front of you will be straight on your way blocking the signal.
-On the other hand, when driving you are changing lanes (if there's more than one going in both directions) and the road is turning all the time (at least in my country), so I think with centre placement the RD will be able to pick up signal optimally from everywhere and the reception will be identical from both sides.
-Picking up the signal from the back will be more difficult with left or right positioning, as the detector won't have clear view because of the driver, front and rear seats and their headrests (and metal inside them) etc.
What do you think about all that, does the horizontal positioning really matter, and if it does, are the differences really big?
Waiting for your comments and opinions!
Best regards, Alex
