How hard is it to pick up on I/O? It seems like the STI is horrible at it. There is a place where state troopers usually hide and its one of those around the corner traps. I seemed to pick it up at the very last second if there is a car that is 3 or so car lenghts ahead of me. And when its being aimed on me, it's for a considerable time period so its not like they are doing quick triggers. Also, the over a hill detection on this isn't that great either. I know the trooper wasn't using C/O on this either but once again, I must rely on rabbits in order for the RD to pick up the signal. I understand how radar detectors work and how stationary radar and radar guns work, along with C/O vs I/O. It just seems ridiculous how little notice you get. Bear in mind this is with a decent amount of traffic so I don't see why it shouldn't be able to pick up I/O bursts from ahead with more notice. I've had the unit for about 9 months now and haven't sent it in to be re-calibrated. Does this sound normal or should I send it in to get checked out.
