Got it installed this morning. Took about 2 hours. I didn't drill any holes. Used double sided 3M tape to mount the antenna.

2 Hours of riding around looking for radar. The Sti r is bettering the 3.872 in most cases. They tie about 50% then the Sti r wins the other 50% by 3-10 seconds.
Pretty sweet.
Alerts today were k and ka 35.5 c/o.
May rid myself of the V1 not sure yet.
Nice install. I wouldn't get rid of the V1. If you run the STi-r in spec mode with your V1, you'll have "Arrows in Spec Mode"- knowing where the threat is coming from and what the frequency of the threat is. Plus, if QT ever becomes a threat in your area, you'll need the V1 to pick those short radar shots.
Radar antenna is mounted upside down.
I have mine upside down now and it seems to do better on K band compared to when I first installed it right side up. I do not know if this is just a coincidence or if it matters.
The reason I turned mine upside down though is because you could see the serial number and stuff through my grill when it was right side up, so I thought it would be less noticeable upside down, which it is.
I think it performs better over hills, when mounted right-side-up.
The antenna horn is certainly different from top to bottom. The angle is different.

Thanks for the info. I just naturally assumed the serial number would go down.
I'll flip it Monday. Thanks again.
