Thanks guys for the feedback and real life experience. Looks like all is well. Just need some real radar to test.
Should the STi-r alert readily to a Bushnell k band shot, ie the STi-r shouldn't filter the Bushnell, right?
I test fired a few times and its hit or miss when I fire the Bushnell within the car. I'm really wondering if there is something wrong with K band. No Ka hits yet to judge.
were you doing the bushnell as quick trigger? or holding the trigger down?
if i do quick trigger with my bushnell, the STI - R picks it up 1/5 times. the v1 gets it pretty much every time. so that's normal. belscort was never top dog at I/O shots.
and are you saying it NEVER picks it up? or ocasionally
I hold the bushnell trigger for like 3-5 seconds and I cannot get the Sti-r to alert unless I get out of the car and move the bushnell closer to the front of the car. If I'm parked in the garage I sometimes get an alert if I aim it forward and the signal hits the wall and bounces toward the receiver.
I would expect it to alert easily to the bushnell no matter which way I aim it given the proximity of the radar source to the receiver.
Update: I pulled the receiver out this afternoon, got an RA number and sent it back for a new receiver. Hopefully the 2nd unit will be right.
