Quick question, I was reading the the STI-r doesn't have rear laser detection capabilities and that there is come similarity between the STI-r and the 9500ci...... Would it be possible to splice in a rear laser receiver from the 9500ci setup?
If not, would it be easier to build one using an IR transistor or ir variable resistor to the ir receiver in the front antenna? Easily?
My guess would be to splice in the signal wire just after the ir receiver and before any signal processing happens. The rear ir transistor (from my limited understanding of electronics) could have it's own power source. At the splice area diodes and some kind of transistors would keep the signals to spec ( to compensate for the increase in resistance from the didoes, I think). Run it all through some good wire and I think it may work.
Comments, insults anyone?
