Default Ol lady got me an rx65 for xmas

I was browsing around reading about the STI and my wife wanted to see what I was doing. I told her I was going to buy it if it tested out better than the current top three. Then she got kind of fussy and I couldnt figure out what the deal was until she came out and told me she got me the rx65 for xmas. Guess Im out of the detector market and Im going to be a little pissy if the STI does put out some good numbers. If its not an improvement then all is groovy since I dont need the spectreproof anyways and would have got the rx65. Gotta love here just the same, she was only trying to make me happy.

Wow, talk about seeming to "look a gift horse in the mouth"!!! You're getting an RX65 for FREE....but yet seem somewhat unhappy!?!?!? You just saved $450, and got a top of the line detector for FREE! I don't see any way you can or reason you should be unhappy in the slightest.....so be happy....ENJOY, brother! There are an aweful ot of folks (myself included) who would LOVE to be getting what you are for free!

Heck I would be happy if my wife would not mock me for using a radar detector. I keep hearing "If you get a ticket with that thing you are never going to hear the end of it." And when I tell how to properly use a detector I hear "You didn't need it. What was wrong with your old one." I guess I don't understand the need for 30 pairs of shoes either.
    So just be thankful...

Nothing is ever free. My wife hasnt worked in 30 years. Even if she did it would still not be free. Remember, whats mine is hers... I was not complaining per se. I'll be bummed if the STI has improved detection since the money was never an issue and I would have preferred to get the best. If it doesnt bring anything to the table in terms of detection then I would have got the rx65 anyways so I'll actually be quite happy. At any rate I'll never tell her anything other than Im totally happy with it regardless. Be interesting to get my hands on it. I have never had a detector so Im going to be learning the ropes as I go. Newb posts/stupid questions galore coming soon.

Thank your wife and tell her you want the best for the both of you. Send it back and get the V1 or X50 for the laser detection. - My 2 cents - Since what is yours is hers. Both chip in on the the V1 or X50 and make it a Christmas Gift for the both of ya

haha if i was married, i wish i'd get presents like that! lol. they might show up on my credit card but then i wouldnt get the badgering about "that thing that hangs in your car and beeps all the time" like i do from my girlfriend

if you dont have a jammer, i dont know how much laser detection is going to help you anyway. unless you have a black trans am like jim's or a black vette or similar to that, laser detection will only tell you when you've been ticketed. veil and lasershield might help a little, but in most cases where your in close range with most cars, i'd have to say your screwed. just my thoughts on that. i hear the rx-65 is just about the best for POP right now. is that true?
