I have a new STi-R (38 09) installed and am running it side by side my V1 with LIs as well. I have been just "getting used to" the STi, and comparing it to my V1 of several years. The STi currently is a little over-sensitve to K (24.2xx), for reasons I'm not clear on - posted elsewhere here.
But the big deal is that it really missed the boat on a motorcycle LEO with Ka yesterday. The good news is, the STi alerted 2-3 seconds before the V1 initially, maybe 0.5-0.75 miles from where the LEO was, coming towards us as it turned out. The STi reported Ka 35.5xx, I don't remember the exact frequency.
The bad news is, after maybe 10 seconds of both RDs alerting, the STi was non-alert the rest of the way until I had eyes on the LEO. The V1, on the other hand continued to ramp up to then down with behind-arrows the LEO. As he passed a few hundred feet behind me, the STi then briefly chirped again a couple times.
I have a video, I just haven't had time to capture it and post, but will do so.
I'm pretty disappointed in this particular contact. Any suggestions?
