Guess what I just found..... 8)

Laser diode arrangement is quite similar to the early V1's.

Huh. Can anybody explain how this works because the horn setup is unlike anything I've seen.

I'm pretty sure that the dual horns are because of the spectre shielding. If you think about the filters that are available for the 975R, there's one that filters out everything below 20GHz. That filters out the LO emissions, but also X band. This is just an example, i'm sure that the frequencies aren't right or even plausible, but it'll help you undersand.

One horn is for X band. the LO for that one is at 14GHz. Everything above 11 could be filtered out. The other horn is for K/Ka. The LO is set at 11GHz. Everything below 20 is filtered out on it.

Don't know if that makes any sense, but that's the best I can explain my idea on how it works. I'm sure someone like Jim that actually fully understands how this works can explain much better.

Thanks, interesting to say the least. Also happy to know the exact location of the cord input in on the unit.

It looks advanced. I hope it truly is completely stealth AND detects better than all previous Bels/Escorts.

The V1 is no longer "The only detector with 2 antennas".
