3 weeks with my 940

after having my v940 in my truck for the past three weeks i have been extremely happy with my purchase. i was a little leary at first because of the bad experience i had with my last rd, but that quickly went away after i picked up a leo almost 1.5 miles away, giving me plaenty of time to slow down. the only annoyance ive had is that it falses quite a but, but even that is reassuring, knowing that it is sensitive. i guess im just bragging, but its hard not to. lol

The V940 is a good RD. I had one of those for a while and it was great. It will false a lot especially since you can't turn off X band. You can go to city mode and program low sensitivity for X. That's really the major problem with the V940. The performance is great, but the feature set is a bit too basic. As long as u can live with the falses it's an amazing value, cheaper than some Cobras and much better! You are right, most quality detectors false a lot. My V1 falses for K constantly.

I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying your 940. It is truly a fantastic detector, and for the money, I don't think that there is anything that even comes close. I have one for a backup, and its performance is very close to the 8500 X50 I used to have. I picked mine up off Amazon for $89, simply amazing. I'm sure that it will serve you well for a long time to come.

v940 is a good detector. I used mine for over 10 years. I would put it up against my X-50 anytime.

Best RD for the money, I have the v940 with an S7 and have had some great saves.

I completely agree with the comments about the V940. Mine also had the S7 and many great saves. Turn down the X band feature and it takes a strong signal to kick it on, as for the K band falses, they all do that (both of my V995s one M4 and S7.

You made a fantastic choice for your first low budget detector. For the price, there is nothing in the world that can compare to it. As I mentinoned, the one I have, I would say performs very closely to the $320 Escort 8500 X50 that I had. Hey and think of this...... some people pay 200-300+ for a cobra... and you little cheap detector will blow any of them out of the water. I'm sure that you will be happy with it.

yeah im really pleased. especially after i rode with my buddy today, he has a cobra and it didnt pick up anything until we were literally right on top of it. idk how he hasnt been pulled over yet.
