From the detector manuals we know that city modes reduce the X band sensitivity.
940 has 2 city modes,Std and LoX. The others have also NoX, which is closing the X band completely.
There is also an Autoscan mode on the 955 and above models.
Some say the autoscan mode just lowers the X band sensitivity on all the models except STI. On STI also lowers the K band sensitivity.
Other say that on the Autoscan mode will delay the alerts of faint radar signals with one second to analyze if the signal really comes from a radar.
There are also discussions about detector sensitivity when all bands are enabled vs. when only a band or Ka narrow bans are enabled. It seems logical that a detector scanning all the frequency range from X to Ka wide will react slower to Instant on or POP then a detector with only K band enabled.
I have a 955. In my area only K band and K band POP (67ms) are used. What's the best setting for my detector? Highway, CityNoX or Autoscan?
Is CityNoX beter then Highway? In the highway mode all bands are enabled, on the CityNoX just K and Ka.
Will autoscan affect the POP and I/O detection? With Constant on I didn't noticed any difference in range.
How much difference will make having all the bands enabled opposed to having just one band or having all the wide Ka enabled vs narrow Ka as RX65 and X50 Euro detectors have. The euro models are about 50$ more expensive then the standard ones and the difference is that they can close down segments of the Ka band and they can detect the iskra 20ms (or is it 60ms) K band pulse.
One last question, how good are the Belscort models against 67ms K POP? V1 is king at POP and laser, but how good are the Belscort models.
In Romania, where I live, there are 450 BEE III radars with POP 67ms function.
