mercedes benz setting of sti

driving around town the other day and my k band goes off, and the closer i got to a new 4matic mercedes the higher the signal, anybody had a similar issue?

It also sucks when you're about to tear the road apart and you get a full blast of K.

I would think the 'lane asssist' in these cars would inhibit the use of an on board RD.

You can use a RD in them, but the RD is going to alert you to K band, making your drive very annoying.

Must be that hardly any Benz owners are using RDs. Otherwise they would be complaining about it.

Hopefully it will remain an expensive option, but most likely it will become more common. I read the other day that the European Union was going to make such devices mandatory and that the US would likely follow a few years after that.
