Default STi-R Ka-segmentation and RDR option

Hey guys, just a couple of questions.

    Ka-frequencies used in my country:
    Multanova 34,36 GHz
    Stalker Dual 34,7 GHz

    Ka-segmentation on my STi-R:
    Ka1 (33.392 - 33.704)
    Ka2 (33.704 - 33.896)
    Ka3 (33.886 - 34.198)
    Ka4 (34.184 - 34.592)
    Ka5 (34.592 - 34.808)
    Ka6 (34.806 - 35.166)
    Ka7 (34.143 - 35.383)
    Ka8 (35.378 - 35.618)
    Ka9 (35.595 - 35.835)
    Ka10 (35.830 - 35.998)

There are two Ka-segments (4 & 7) which include 34,36 GHz frequency. Is this just a typo in the manual or what? If it's not, should I activate both segments, or just one of the two?

My another question is about RDR function. Should I turn it off? I've seen somewhere that turning it off should increase detection range. There is a risk of falses though, but as I've got K-band disabled and there's no door openers operating on Ka-band, I think I won't be getting any... Is this info true at all? I tried searching on the Internet but did not find anything about it. Just happened to read about it something like year ago, so can't be sure about it anymore.

    From the Owner's Manual:

    "Manual Correction

Please be advised on pages 2 and 11 under the band programming section, KA-band segment 7 should read:

    "35.143 -35.383""

    I leave KA5(34.592 - 34.808) and KA6(34.806 - 35.166) on for 34.7 KA as there may be frequency drift so I leave KA6 on.

If those are the only 2 freq's in your country 34.36 and 34.7, I would turn on only 4 5 and 6. Possibly leaving 6 off as 34.8 is somewhat unlikely for a 34.7 gun.

9_C1 was kind enough to suggest these settings for me since im in Calif.

    autolock on
    gps on
    speed check on
x off - States known to still have X-Band units in operation are Oregon, Ohio, New Jersey, Indiana and parts in North Carolina
    K on
Kasw off........ka1-ka10 (with segs 1,3,4,6,7,9,10 turned off.
    pop off....unless traveling through Nevada
    SWS off
    Laser On
    RDR off

These suggested settings from 9C1 has a made a huge difference. The range on my STI-R Plus is extra ordinary and the reaction time seems supersonic. Im not embelishing here...
Some of these settings will vary from state to state from what I understand.

The OP is from another country, those settings are optimal for the US, but I'd also turn 3/6/9 on for frequency drift protection.

Ok, thanks for your help Lucky So the 4, 5 & 6 are the ones I need... But as you were talking about frequency drift, should I also consider turning Ka3 on? Multanova is 34,36 GHz and I'm thinking maybe Ka4 (34.184 - 34.592) won't protect me in case of frequency drift? So I should be scanning also Ka3 frequencies to be sure I'm safe, no?

No, KA4 should be fine enough, 34.18 - 34.59, 34.36 lies right in the middle and stationary cameras aren't going to drift much like a gun.

Thanks so much, now I'll be able to improve detection range I hope Got inspired by a great save which I experienced yesterday. Was going to set the segmentation up for a long time, but after facing a real situation and driving away without being stopped I decided that I want to get even better - to make sure I will always manage to prevent my tickets :P

What's with the RDR function guys? The manual says:
"When Radar Detection Rejection is on
    (default), polluting radar detectors are
rejected. When RDR is turned off,
increasing will occur due to other radar
    detectors."
but language barrier prevents me from understanding what does it mean and even I did understand that, I still wouldn't know wether it's best to keep on or off in the real world.

It filters out false alerts from other Radar Detectors (read the Cobra radar detector in the car next to you), but more filtering means you won't get your KA band alerts as soon as you would with it off, just leave it off, better safe then sorry.

Ah, okay. That's great, as no-one uses them here, everyone's afraid of Spectre. If someone has a detector, it's STi, but even them are very rare. People just drive carefully and don't even think about detectors, guess it's because of the driving culture...

I appreciate your help, thanks again

    2/5/8
    RDR-Off

Turns the STi-R from just another M3 into the best RD ever made. Better QT detection than the V1 and better range too.
