    Default STi-R Plus Observations

I've just recently had my STi-R Plus installed and just wanted to post some comments about my first impressions...
Regarding sensitivity vs my 9500ix it is obvious that the STi-R Plus is picking up radar on both K and Ka in general MUCH earlier than the 9500ix (as it should). I had 3 encounters with Ka 35.5, two with 34.7, and two with ? 33.4 tonight on the way to work (a 15 min drive!!) I wish I had video footage... I have the Ka segmentation set to Ka 2, 5, and 8 on and all others and RDR off by the way. The ramp up of the STi-R Plus is much superior as well, with the 9500ix usually going full blast to any Ka way before the geiger counter like alert of the STi-R Plus. Regarding volume, however, (and I'm not sure if something's wrong with my setup) the STi-R Plus is much quieter even at full volume compared to my 9500ix or my LI using the external speaker that is the same make/model as the STi-R Plus's. I definitely won't be able to hear some alerts when my music is moderately loud. I will soon try to troubleshoot as to why this may be the case and get back on my findings.

Are you sure it wasn't Ka 33.8 instead of Ka 33.4? I would go ahead and implement Ka segmentation and turn RDR OFF.

You are totally right! It was 33.8. I put the question mark in front because I couldn't remember the exact freq and I am a newbie at this radar stuff and couldn't remember the freq it would have been.

I figured. Ka falses usually hover around Ka 33.6 BTW. Still, do Ka segmentation on the STir plus with RDR OFF and tell us how much it increases performance.

They put both speakers in the same place behind the under steering column area behind a panel....
so if it were location dependent, I would expect it to affect both the same, but they are drasticly different...
