Strange Ka Alert STi-R Plus

Almost daily, without fail, when I turn a corner by my kids school, I often get a Ka 33.667 and 33.766 alert. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Some days I get it, others I don't. There's a LEO that lives a street over and often brings his car home with him. I've seen a Spectre in his car, but it's usually off when I look in. Anyone know why it could alert in this one particular spot. In Ontario, it's not known how many people drive with RD's so I don't know if maybe even someone with a cheap Crapbra could be causing the alert. I've got Ka Seg 2,5 and 8 on. RDR off. Any thoughts?

Is there a satellite dish near that corner where you get the alert? It could be that, or someone with a Crapra who leaves it on in the parking lot every day. Is it a high school (where students may drive/park there)? That would increase the chances of a Crapra.

I doubt it's real radar (would be closer to 33.8 if it's a MPH gun), and I've never heard of a RD falsing on a Spectre (though it's certainly not impossible).

Try turning RDR on for a couple days and see if the alert goes away.

I've experienced that myself. I've also gotten Ka falses from what I think are security systems for schools, businesses, and so on. I always get a false Ka alert when I'm at the business that my dad works at, which has a security system. There isn't anything else there that would cause a false.

i'm guessing satelite dishes or LED signs in the school yards.

Mine is doing the samething(33.7) I find this very odd. My Redline remains quite during these alert's.

Both my V1 and my STi windshield mount have picked up the Spectre, but the alert was in the 35 GHz range.

Just yesterday morning I had a 34.404 alert on my STi. I have no idea where that came from.

If you are running two detectors you could probably just turn off that segment if it is getting on your nerves. That is what I had to do because of all the cobras. I have RDR off and let the V1 take care of 33.8 since it is a beast on that frequency anyways and I hardly ever run into it.

Crapra. One thing that's cool about running >1 RD is usually only 1 of them will false on a Crapra at any given time. If they all alert, it's more likely to be real.

I've never seen a Ka band motion sensor or door opener and I hope I never see one, because I'll personally go to the owner of the company who makes them and strangle them.

if your running another detector and have rdr
turned off on stir+ that will be the cause of the problem.i just put my v1 back up near my rear view and my stir+ with rdr off gives me false alerts here and there on 33.6 but I could be wrong.
