You sell 'em. You tell us... You wouldn't make a very good Best Buy salesman. LOL!!!

That's why we like him more than a BB salesman...

They are specifically designed for the conditions which they find themselves in on a daily basis... my only concern would be TOO close to the radiator, other than that... all external elements shouldn't have an impact.

I had my STi-R for about a year on my car and I never had an issue with ramp up or detection.

Mine is literaly almost touching my A/C condenser and directly behind that is my radiator - the receiver is maybe 1/3 of an inch from the condenser. On the S4 there is not a lot of room in that area under the plate and my car gets very hot in the summer . No issues as of yet, but I did have to move the wires away from the horn wires because of the false laser alerts. This winter some ass plowed 1/2 of their lawn into the road at 3am and before the plows took care of it I ran right into it - bunch of soil, gravel and snow. My upper and lower grilles were all broken and so was my belly pan - rocks all over. Sti-R took the hit like a champ and all I could see was a small scratch on the lens.

So far the only real issues I have had were more related to the items in the car, like the display that crapped out on me. Escort has had remote installed detectors for many years and if there were a lot of problems I think we would have heard about it.

Temperatures outside the car are actually less extreme than inside.
