I'm slightly puzzled by the way my new STI-R is performing. I have about a half a dozen of known false K-band sources on my daily commute. I had a Redline for a couple of months, and it picked them up every time I drove by. I've also been test driving STI Driver for a couple of weeks now and it performs very similar to Redline and picks up every one of those known falses every time. I installed my new STI-R Plus two days ago, and so far it has "ignored" every one of those falses. Now, I know about the AutoLock, and it's certainly not the case here because it was the very first time I drove by those sources, and from what I understand, the RD will alert to falses for the first 3 passes before locking them out. I've also had one false Ka alert so far (I guess it may not have been a false, but it only alerted for about 2 seconds and stopped, all while the STI Driver was silent). I also got a false laser alert this morning right where one of my known K-band falses is (STI Driver alerted to K-band, as always, and STI-R Plus alerted to laser at the exact same moment; Blinders stayed quiet, so I doubt it was a real threat). Now, on one hand I'm glad STI-R Plus is capable of ignoring the falses so well, but on the other, I'm wondering if there is something wrong with it and it will "ignore" a real K-band threat just as well. Unfortunately, I almost never run into a real K-band threat here anymore, so I have no way of validating its performance against real K-band threat. My plan was to return the STI Driver before my 30 days are up (which is less than 2 weeks away) and run the Plus as my only detector, but now I'm not sure I can trust the Plus without more testing, or running a second RD along with it. Any thoughts?
