I had a 940. about a year ago, it kept saying "service required" but sometimes if I turned it on and off again, it would still work, until one day it wouldn't even turn on, just made a clickey noise when I hit the power button. Damn thing only lasted like 3.5 years.
I just got a refurbished RX-65 from the official ebay store. It worked fine for a day but now it just did the same thing. Showed the "service required" message, then I turned it off and it wouldn't turn back on again, just that clickey noise again.
Both were hard wired with one of those fuse "add a circuit" thing with 30A fuses (since that is what the cig lighter amp is). Since they did work for a little while, but eventually quit, I am assuming it is not a problem with my wiring. It is, however, hard to believe that Beltronics has such a good reputation if these things quit out like this.
--Whats the deal?! I keep them in my car 24-7. Do they get too hot or what? Should I take them out when I am not driving? Help!
