    Question Austin,TX bike LEO's use POP!

    On my way home today southbound on 183, I got a KA hit about a mile away. The hit got stronger, and then I got a two POP hits and then back to KA. About five seconds later I saw the bike LEO heading northbound. WTF? My RX65 is mounted high on the left of the mirror just underneath the tint strip in my Spec-V and my Tahoe. My settings are:
    POP=On
    SWS=Off
    KA=USA
    X=Off
    What do you guys think?

    Do you use the Tech display (frequency display) on your rx65? If so, what was the frequency? 33.8 is the only frequency Ka POP capable guns use. If you saw 34.7 or 35.5, it wasn't POP. POP falses are fairly common, far more so than actual POP being used.
    If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

    If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

    Got you. I still have it on threat mode because I tend to forget what frequency numbers are the real threats.

    In Indiana some ISP and locals used KA 33.8. And with POP ON on my Escort RD's sometimes if they detected some distant I/O they would alert to POP.

    if it was indeed 33.8 and he hit pop he cant use that mode to pull you over. its kinda a waste of time..if he holds it in any longer it goes to constant on then he can issue you a ticket.

    Could just be that then. You'll see most LEO's here using KA and laser. Haven't got a laser hit yet and don't want to unless its for the customer ahead of me.

    Spec 5 Spec 5 Spec 5!!!! I had an 02 modded to piss and OMG I LOVED that little autoxer. It's possible it was POP given the Ka-band POP is the vehicle mounted ones and I doubt he would use the hand-held K-band POP2 guns on a bike.

    You guys are assuming an LEO abides by MPH's 'recommendations'...how many people actually read AND follow the user manual is debatable and other than us radar dorks, how many people even know this 'technicality' by MPH?

    Yeah the Spec-V is pretty fast for a four banger. Austin is #2 behind Houston for speed traps. The bike LEO's are especially sneaky.

    The Law might say that but we know all leo's don't follow them
