    Default RX65 Black

All the Beltronics 65 series detectors (ie RX65 red, RX65 blue, and GX65) are on back order on the companies site. Maybe this indicates that belscort is planning to update these units? Maybe giving them the same lens that they recently gave to the X50 black?

By putting them on back order, it prevents people from buying them now, and getting upset when the new version comes out a month later. Its just that all those units being on back order at the time seems very odd.

The X50 seems to be getting rave reviews, the Rx should be awesome, especially with USA mode. But yeah, escort did it so it makes sense that beltronics would follow suite.

I asked Escort some time ago about offering a condensor lens as a hardware upgrade for my RX65(S7)........they said there were no plans to offer upgrades for "obsolete" detectors.

So then they roll out the X50 black with the condensor lens being the only real change from the old model.......and a different color case.

The S2 to S3 is a similar story with the exception of the new OLED display.

I might be tempted to buy a complete new RX65 w/condensor lens just to see how the M4 performs with a good lens in front and USA mode active. However, if I already had an M4 RX65, I would be put off by the fact that I had to buy a whole new detector just to get that lens.

They called the S7 RX65 obsolete?

Well in that case they surely understand just how much band segmentation can do...

If they consider rx65 s7 obsolete how long will it be before they stop servicing them like the other older models?

S7 GX65 obsolete as well? That's not good news.

My guess is that it will be awhile before belscort stops servicing the "later model" S7's. They are still selling refurbs, are they not? Don't worry about the S7 GX65 going obselete. There never was or never will be an S7 GX65.

I am not sold yet, my 9500ix is a good radar detector. But it's not heads and tails above the RX-65 or my 8500x50 (S7). It's just slightly better than them against on-axis threats. I like the looks of the x50 black, but not sure if that lense is worth me having to spend another $300.
