Ka alert tonight. Ka turned off on STi-R Plus. ???

I was out driving tonight here when I got a brief Ka alert on my STi-R Plus. I have all Ka turned off on it (as Ka is not used over here) so it should not be able to do this. Heres the video of it happening...



Anyone know how or why it alerted when Ka is off? I did check straight away and all 10 segments are indeed off .

Not a good week for me with RDs but I am not too worried all the same. Just puzzled is all. I did have a Whistler 1785 a few years ago and it still used to alert to X band even though I had it turned off. I didnt expect a fairly new STi-R Plus to do similar.

Might be the same problem whisters have where the K band is up near the Ka band and belscort's engineers made a mistake.

What was the freq?

I missed the freq unfortunately. I never thought to look at the display in time so I do not know if there even was a freq displayed on there or not .

Does the StiR+ have a way to download the data logs?

It does but I would have to remove it from the car to look it up as I do not have a laptop.

Had the same problem with K-band. K-Band is not used in my area and is permanent off. After starting the engine, the STI-R gave K-Band alert.

I think this was caused by voltage fluctuation. The STI-R gets very confused when the voltage drops under a specific value. In the worst case also loses all the adjustments.

Did you turn on the STI-R+ after the engine was running?

Do you get a k alert during startup or is it telling you k band is off. The stir will tell you which bands are off during startup

I had been driving for nearly an hour at the stage that happened and I have the STiR Plus on a switch so I always wait until the engine has been started before I turn it or the V1 or my LPPs on also.

I reckon it was just a freak occurrence and I will just have to see if it does it again. Im not too worried at this stage though.

Ka SW and X band are off according to the start up. K band is all that is on as it is all that is used here. Laser is on as well.
